However, I’m only going to do so when the criticism is constructive and honest. In this case, I find your words to be so out of line that they don’t deserve a thoughtful response. "According to our records from December 2023, Mr. Thomas was attempting to transfer his policy/policies into Georgia from a neighboring state. However, there were some preexisting issues with his account (adverse underwriting, payment, etc.) that prevented us from making what would normally be a smooth transition. We attempted to resolve those issues but his account had already been set for nonrenewal in the adjacent state. Thus the situation was out of our control and we explained all of this, in detail, to Mr. Thomas. State Farm has been doing business with honesty and integrity for more than 100 years. At a local level, my team has been providing “good neighbor service” to Albany and southwest Georgia for more than 33 years. This isn’t the first time that we’ve run into obstacles when trying to assist someone and we ALWAYS leave the door open in terms of building a working relationship down the road. We did this with Mr. Thomas. When his underwriting issues clear up (normally a 3-year look-back), we would love to work with him. *I would also note that it is illegal for an insurance company to keep any monies paid that extend beyond a cancellation date. When and if this type of overpayment occurs, Georgia law requires a refund. Steve Perrine, Agent"
